The purpose of our Spark Studio is:
to foster academic, physical, and emotional independence through developmentally appropriate works inspired by Maria Montessori;
to spark curiosity through hands-on experiences and play-based challenges, and;
to equip learners for the next steps of their journey by applying the Hero’s Journey philosophy.
Our youngest learners can work on a modified schedule to help with the transition to full-day school. In addition to lots of play, they will have the freedom to explore the Montessori materials and limited iPad time.
Our middle ages work with Montessori Materials and spend more time working on their digital work cycle. They have already mastered some early learning concepts and are working toward self-regulation and finishing their early reading, writing, and math skills. Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
The purpose of our Discovery Studio is:
to develop self-awareness and independence through reflective processes and freedom within boundaries;
to discover a joy for learning through a balanced learning design, and;
to ignite curiosity through a wide range of challenges and experiences.
Our upper elementary-aged learners will work within the full Acton Academy model. We will meet Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:15 p.m.
The purpose of our Embark Studio is:
to provide an environment with a high degree of choice, expectations of excellence, physical movement and hard work.
to foster healthy peer connections through team building, collaboration meaningful discussion, and actively practice holding one another accountable.
to increase focus on assimilating knowledge from powerful books, history, and science through discussion & self-reflection.
The Embark Learners transition their love of learning in Discovery Studio into a more serious study & learn more about themselves & their connection to the world. Embark meets Monday through Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
